It was SOOOOOO AMAZING!
You can barely see me in this picture, doing a thumbs up sign..
It's kind of hard to see, because its so dark, but this was my view from my seat before the show started.
This is Trafalgar Square and Ben Ben.
Ben and I on the subway, when we were lost for forever. Katie and I freaking out, about to go see Wicked!
Sondra and on the steps outside the Museum. and an African tree of life that was made out of weapons from the Cold War, it was a peace offering.
Oh my goodness! What a day! We left as a group at 8:15 am from the houses to walk to the train station. They gave us our day pass for the train that included the undergrounds in London. We arrived in London and our first stop was to see the British museum(which by the way, admission was FREE) and they gave us about an hour and 15 mintues to walk around the museum on our own. There was no possible way that we could see everything in that time, because there are about 90 rooms, but I walked around and saw a lot of things. I thought it was cool, but I definetley would not have wanted to stay there too much longer. Dad, you would LOVE this place, maybe you and mom would want to go to London for the day or something. It has history artifacts of about every part of the world.
After the museum, they walked us to the National Gallery, and said that we were free to be our own thing for the rest of the day, with no time of having to be back in Oxford. So me and big group of people went to go look for tickets at the half price booths. A lot of people were complaining and decided not to do it. However, Katie, Ben, and I were determined to see Wicked. We went to the ticket office at the Wicked theater and they had 3 student single tickets that were awesome! We got 25 pound tickets that are normally 60 pound tickets!
The show was at 7:30 pm, so we went back to the National Gallery. It was very cool! I have never really studied Art History before, and I had no i dea how many Biblical paintings exisited. There were originals from Leonardo Davinci, Van Gogh, and Monet, and a lot of other well known artists. After the museum, we figured we needed to know the time of the last train out to Oxford, so we went on the underground, where we needed to go to Paddington to get that information. However, we took a wrong subway somehow, and we kept getting turned around. We spent like an hour, maybe more, just running from subways to subways trying to get on the right track again. Katie, and Ben are a lot taller then me, and 2 steps for them are like 6 steps for me! I bet it was a funny sight, seeing me literally running to catch up with Ben. There are so many stairs in bewtween each subway...so lets just say I definetley got my exercise.
After we had wasted all that time, we did not end up having time to eat at Hard Rock Cafe like we had planned to, but we found a McDonalds and I ate for only a 1.98. Then, it was time for the show, and we were SOOO excited. I have heard how great this show was, but it was better than I had even expected! Their voices, the story, the stage effects, how great a seat I had, and getting a really good price made seeing Wicked in London, my favorite thing so far on this trip. It's going to be hard to top that. I absolutley LOVED it!!
